Hadith in Arabic

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا ذَكَرَتْ نِسَاءَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَأَثْنَتْ عَلَيْهِنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ لَهُنَّ مَعْرُوفًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ دَخَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ فِرْصَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَرْصَةً.

کیا تو ان کی تعریف کی اور ان کے حق میں بھلی بات کہی اور بولیں: ان میں سے ایک عورت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئی ، پھر راوی نے سابقہ مفہوم کی حدیث بیان کی، مگر اس میں انہوں نے«فرصة ممسكة» ( مشک میں بسا ہوا پھاہا ) کہا۔ مسدد کا بیان ہے کہ ابوعوانہ «فرصة» ( پھاہا ) کہتے تھے اور ابوالاحوص «قرصة» ( روئی کا ٹکڑا ) کہتے تھے۔

Hadith in English

Aishah made a mention of the women of the Ansar and admired them stating that they had obliged (all Muslims). She then said: One of their women came upon the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. She then reported the rest of the tradition to the same effect; but this version she said the words: a musk-scented piece of cloth. Musaddad said: Abu 'Awanah used the word firsah (i. e. a piece of cloth), but Abu Al-Ahwas used the word qasrah (i. e. a small piece of cloth). .
