Hadith in Arabic

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَصَلَّى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ دَخَلَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا فُلَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَيَّتُهُمَا صَلَاتُكَ الَّتِي صَلَّيْتَ وَحْدَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوِ الَّتِي صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا ؟ .

ایک شخص آیا اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فجر پڑھا رہے تھے تو اس نے دو رکعتیں پڑھیں پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز میں شریک ہو گیا، جب آپ نماز سے فارغ ہو کر پلٹے تو فرمایا: اے فلاں! تمہاری کون سی نماز تھی؟ آیا وہ جو تو نے تنہا پڑھی یا وہ جو ہمارے ساتھ پڑھی ۱؎؟ ۔

Hadith in English

Narrated Abdullah bin Sarjas: A man came while the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was leading the people in the dawn prayer. He prayed the two rak'ahs and then joined the congregational prayer led by the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. When he finished the prayer, the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: So-and-so, which was your real prayer, the one you prayed alone or the one offered with us ? .
